Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect any ocular abnormalities or diseases
- Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, or other vision aids as necessary
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy
- Perform specialized tests, including visual field testing, color vision testing, and retinal imaging
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and preventive measures
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of optometry principles and practices
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye examinations and diagnosing ocular conditions
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems
- Experience in pediatric optometry and senior care is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate complex medical information to patients in a clear and understandable manner
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic)
- Strong sales skills to recommend appropriate eyewear or vision aids to patients
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient care
